GUBERNUR KHOFIFAH DATANGI PABRIK APD DI KOTA PROBOLINGGO

2019-2020

KADEMANGAN – Kota Probolinggo menjadi perhatian Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Timur.

Informasinya, satu pasien COVID 19 membutuhkan 23 APD per hari.

(famydecta)

Probolinggo city has attracted the attention of East Java provincial government as Probolinggo Mayor Hadi Zainal Abidin reported to Governor Khofifah Indar Parawangsa that one of the garment factories in the city is ready to produce health-protective gears APD for the medical workers. The governor then visited the factory on Wednesday (1/4).

“Yes, the mayor sent me the pictures of a factory in the city producing APD. I’d like to find out the production quality. The rumor said it can produce more than one million APD,” Governor Khofifah said after watching the production process at the Putrareja Sempurna factory.

As is known, Mayor Habib Hadi visited on Tuesday (31/3) the factory which takes the order of WHO-standardized health-protective gears from the central government. As he visited the factory, the mayor sent the pictures to the governor, before being asked to send the sample of the gear to the governor at Grahadi Surabaya.

“I know nothing about the quality. I asked dr Joni (Director of Regional Hospital dr Soetomo Surabaya) to check the gear and he confirmed that it’s premium quality. He told me APD should not only cover but also must be secured,” Khofifah added.

The former minister of social affairs explained, having checked the productions of the APD, she said the quota would be sufficient for the hospitals in East Java. She asks for daily quota as is conducted in the mask factory. The daily need for protective gear would be significant because many medical workers need the gear.

“This is to ensure the safety of all medical workers or front-liners who deal with COVID-19 at the hospitals. I ask about the materials, the owner said that it’s sufficient,” she added.

To the governor, the owner Supriyono said that the conversion of the garment into protective gear can last for the next three months.

“We’d like to say thanks for the goodwill to deal with the COVID-19 spread. This way, we can give protection to medical workers. Hopefully, it would be sufficient because APD is now a global need,” the governor said.

Based on the data, treating one patient with COVID-19 will need 23 protective gears a day. The government exemplified, 11 patients with COVID-19 are now being treated at the Regional Hospital dr Soetomo Surabaya. Then, the need for APD a day would be 23 gears multiplied with 11 patients. In total, 3,200 APD are needed by the hospitals under the supervision of the East Java Provincial Government.

After visiting the factory, the government held a meeting which then concluded that East Java Province would have a quota of 3,000 pieces per day. The governor is grateful that there is a factory that has goodwill to produce the protective gear without only thinking about the profit. The meeting also discussed the readiness of Probolinggo city both on the budget and facilities to anticipate the increasing number of patients with COVID-19. It includes the readiness to check the entrance points of the port, train station, and bus station. These points would need special attention. (alfien_tr)
