In order to provide a sense of comfort for Muslims who will sacrifice an animal in Eid Al-Adha, Probolinggo Mayor Hadi Zainal Abidin and the Head of the Agricultural Service for Food Security and Fisheries (Dispertahankan) conducted inspections at several points selling sacrificial animals, on Wednesday (29/7). As a result, the team found sheep that have not met the conditions, which is most important among others is a change of teeth.

Based on the data, the total number of animals being sold is 1000 sheep; 33 goats, and 30 cows, spread in 43 monitoring points in the city. "The number of sellers this year has decreased from the previous one. Last year there were 56 points of sale locations,” said the Head of Dispertahankan Sudiman, while accompanying the mayor.

"There were several animals that did not meet the requirements to become sacrificial animals, especially the change of teeth. I have told you not to sell it, sorry for the people who will sacrifice the animals if they do not fulfill the legal requirements of sacrifice,” said Habib Hadi.

The legal requirement for sacrificial animals is that sacrificial animals must be livestock such as camels, cows, goats, and sheep. For the age must reach the minimum age determined by sharia, which is a cow is at least 2 years old and has entered its 3rd year; sheep are 1 year old while goats are 1 year old and have entered their second year.

Sacrificial animals must be healthy without defects, not to buy animals that are blind, sick, lame, very thin, and do not have bone marrow. And, the animals that were sacrificed were their own, not others.
