CANANGKAN PENANAMAN MANGGA PISANG DI PERMUKIMAN

WONOASIH – Warga Perumahan Sumber Taman Indah, Kelurahan Sumber Taman, Kecamatan Wonoasih menjadi pilot project penanaman bibit pohon mangga pisang di kawasan permukiman di Kota Probolinggo. Sebanyak 100 bibit bantuan dari Kementerian Pertanian itu ditanam perdana oleh Wali Kota Hadi Zainal Abidin, Rabu (2/9) siang.

Menurut Kepala Dinas Pertanian Ketahanan Pangan dan Perikanan (Dipertahankan) Kota Probolinggo, Sudiman, pencanangan penanaman pohon mangga pisang ini cocok ditanam di wilayah perkotaan. Mangga pisang merupakan hasil persilangan mangga jenis Arumanis dan Saigon.

WhatsApp Image 2020 09 02 at 10.47.24“Kami mencari mangga yang cocok ditanam di perkotaan. Dan, jenis mangga pisang ini sangat cocok karena pohonnya tidak terlalu besar. Bisa ditanam di dalam pot sehingga cocok di kawasan permukiman perkotaan,” kata Sudiman.

Mangga pisang atau yang bernama latin Agrigardina 45 memiliki tinggi 1 sampai 1,5 meter, dapat berbuah selama 2 tahun sejak ditanam. Mangga pisang yang cara makannya seperti pisang ini berbuah secara berkesinambungan.

Wali Kota Habib Hadi pun mengapresiasi pencanangan bibit Agrigardina 45 yang didaftarkan sebagai mangga varietas baru pada tahun 2014. “Ini untuk mempertahankan ikon Kota Probolinggo, karena Kota Probolinggo punya kekhasan mangga dan anggur. Kami terus mendorong masyarakat mempunyai semangat yang sama mempertahankan ikon, cukup ditanam di pot di lingkungan rumah,” tegasnya.

Habib Hadi mengatakan, kebutuhan mangga sangat besar namun ketersediaan mangga di Kota Probolinggo masih kurang. “Tentunya dengan penanaman di permukiman selain menambah keindahan juga bisa upaya melestarikan ikon. Jangan sampai mangga dan anggur hanya menjadi cerita, bagian dari sejarah,” imbuh bapak empat orang anak itu.

Untuk buah anggur pemerintah juga akan mengajak masyarakat berpartisipasi mempertahankan ikon kota. “Melihat kekompakan warga disini, saya yakin dan percaya gerakan ini bisa dikembangkan dan ditiru oleh permukiman lainnya,” sambung Habib Hadi.

Sementara itu, Karsinah, peneliti dari Kebun Pembenihan Cukurgondang, Kecamatan Grati, Kabupaten Pasuruan menjelaskan warna kulit mangga pisang ini merah kekuningan dan cepat berbuah.

“Karena cara makannya dikupas seperti pisang maka dijuluki mangga pisang. Varietas ini sudah menyebar ke 8 provinsi di Indonesia, perawatannya pun cukup mudah. Pupuk MPK dilarutkan pakai air lalu disiramkan,” jelas Karsinah. Dipertahankan setempat berencana menanam mangga pisang di berbagai Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) di Kota Probolinggo. (famydecta)

According to Sudiman, Head of the Agriculture, Food Security, and Fisheries Agency of Probolinggo city, the declaration of planting banana mango trees is a good fit in urban areas. Banana mango is the result of crossing the Arumanis and Saigon mangoes.

"We are looking for mangoes that are suitable for planting in urban areas. And, this type of banana mango is perfect because the tree is not too big. It can be planted in pots so that it is suitable in urban residential areas,” said Sudiman.

Banana mango or Agrigardina 45 has a height of 1 to 1.5 meters, can bear fruit for 2 years from planting. Banana mango, which how to eat like a banana, bears fruit continuously.

Mayor Habib Hadi also appreciated the launch of Agrigardina 45 seeds which were registered as a new mango variety in 2014. “This is to maintain the icon of Probolinggo city as a Mango city. We continue to encourage people to have the same spirit to maintain the icon, it is enough to plant them in pots at homes," he said.

Habib Hadi said that the need for mangoes is quite high, but the availability of mangoes in Probolinggo City is still lacking. "Of course, planting in settlements, apart from adding to the beauty, can also be an effort to preserve icons. Don't let mangoes and grapes just become a story, part of history,” added the father of four children.

He hopes that the agency can maintain the banana mango in urban areas. For grapes, the government will also invite people to participate in defending the city's icon. "Seeing the cohesiveness of the residents here, I am sure and believe that this movement can be developed and imitated by other settlements," continued Habib Hadi.

Meanwhile, Karsinah, a researcher from the Cukurgondang Hatchery, Grati Subdistrict, Pasuruan Regency, explained that the skin of this banana mango is yellowish red and bears fruit quickly.

"Because the way to eat it is peeled like a banana, it is called banana mango. This variety has spread to 8 provinces in Indonesia, and its maintenance is quite easy. MPK fertilizer is dissolved with water and then sprinkled,” explained Karsinah. The agency plans to plant banana mangoes in various green open spaces (RTH) in Probolinggo City. (alfien_tr)
