2019-2020

The increasing number of entrepreneurs who care about the condition of the people affected by COVID-19 gained appreciation from Probolinggo Mayor Hadi Zainal Abidin. This was conveyed on an event Berbagi untuk Guru Ngaji (Quran Teacher) by BKSDA in collaboration with the Indonesian Agarwood Association, at the Baitul Muttaqin Mosque on Jalan Indragiri, Friday (5/15).

Before having the event, they had a chance to talk about the target of assistance with Mayor Habib Hadi. "Alhamdulillah, (the target) is to the Koran teachers. As expected, the government and entrepreneurs in Probolinggo city make collaboration to face the impact of COVID 19. Without the unity of one another, the government will not be able to cope," said the mayor.

41 TPQ teachers throughout the city attended the event to receive the food packages symbolically. Next week, on Monday (5/18), the 300 packages will be distributed directly to certain locations, with a total of 500 packages.

On that occasion, Habib Hadi hopes that the scholars, religious leaders, and community leaders could carry out the appeal of the government because there are still many people who are guided by the Kiai or local leaders.

By not shaking hands, not visiting each other, Habib Hadi continued, it does not mean breaking the relationship. "Let us not do that culture for a while until the pandemic ended. The government can only appeal, the people who implement it, supported by the religious leaders," he said.

Chairman of the Indonesian Agarwood Association of Probolinggo city, Syamsu Alam hopes COVID 19 will soon be ended and the situation can get back to normal life.

"In collaboration with the city administration, we distribute the packages of the first stage. I hope that all entrepreneurs in the city can do the same thing, to ease the burden of those affected. Hopefully, entrepreneurs in the city/regency can benefit the surrounding community," said Syamsu Alam.

Meanwhile, at the same time, Vice Mayor Mochammad Soufis Subri attended the distribution of hundreds of food packages that were held by the Probolinggo Indonesian Anti-extortion Society and the Probolinggo Raya Development Circle of Friends in a restaurant on Jalan Suroyo. (alfien_tr)
